The Maryland Senators who have voted against the civil rights of their constituents.



The Maryland Senate Wall of Shame.

 

The people of Maryland deserve to know which of their representatives do not support their civil rights as acknowledged by the Constitution of Maryland and the Constitution of the United States.


 These Maryland Senators have violated their oaths of office.  

These Maryland Senators have voted for legislation that will severely impact the Constitutional rights of ALL of their constituents.

 These Maryland Senators have voted to approve legislation that will make a large number of their constituents CRIMINALS subject to jail time and heavy fines simply for exercising their 2nd amendment rights.  

 These Maryland Senators have voted to enact a law that will require honest, hard working ordinary citizens to be FINGERPRINTED like common criminals in order to exercise their rights.

 These Maryland Senators by voting for this bill have effectively voted to eliminate youth hunting in Maryland.  All people under the age of 21 will be legally prevented from handling firearms regularly used for hunting.  If you are under 21 and you hunt alone, you WILL go to jail.


 The law these senators have voted to pass, SB-281,  a bill submitted by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley. A law which experts have testified in Senate hearings will do nothing to affect the behavior or the penalties applied to VIOLENT CRIMINALS. 

According to the Supreme Court, criminals who use firearms in the commission of felonies such as armed robbery, rape or assault ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THIS LAW.  If criminals were forced to comply, that would be considered self-incrimination and a violation of the 5th amendment.  

The only people subject to this law are law abiding citizens.  These Maryland Senators KNOW THIS yet they chose to pass this law anyway to further their own political aspirations.

 The law CREATES CRIMINALS AND FELONS of law abiding Maryland citizens who may have never had so much as a parking ticket.  All simply for exercising their Constitutional rights and harming no person or persons.

 The law subjects law abiding Maryland citizens to JAIL TIME because they did not fill out paperwork.  The sentences can be up to 3 years in jail.

 The people of Maryland must know that ALL of their rights are secure.  Not just the rights deemed by politicians to be acceptable.  
  
Therefore, the people must know who in the Maryland legislature actively seek to undermine the rights of law abiding Maryland citizens.  

These are the 28 Maryland Senators who have trampled on the civil liberties of law abiding Maryland citizens and tax payers.  THEY MUST BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE!!  

When your loved one is thrown in jail for exercising his or her civil rights, REMEMBER THESE PEOPLE.  

These are the people who must be held accountable.  

Elections are right around the corner,  REMEMBER THESE PEOPLE.  We will not forget.

 Soon the Maryland House will vote on their version of a similar bill.  Once their votes are finalized, the names and faces of the Maryland Delegates who vote alongside these Maryland Senators will also be displayed so all will know who seek to eliminate our civil rights through legislation the Supreme Court of the United States has already determined is unconstitutional.
